To remember them is to honour them!

"To remember them is to honor them" that's the message Roger had.

Roger Mansell. Oct.8-1935-Oct.25-2010.

Rest in Peace, and thanks for everything.

His legacies in POW research and more. See the website: www.rogermansell.com

All things to nothingness descend,
Grow old and die and meet their end:
Man dies, iron rusts, wood goes decayed,
Towers fall, walls crumble, roses fade.
Nor long shall any name resound
Beyond the grave, unless 't be found
In some clerk's book; it is the pen
Gives immortality to men.

  1. Dear Thea,
Thank you so much for your kind comment about my dad. I know he really put his heart into helping people with his research and so of course I am very proud of him.

Some good news: his book, CAPTURED: THE FORGOTTEN MEN OF GUAM, edited by historian Linda Goetz Holmes, will be published this fall by Naval Institute Press.

I made a website to honor my dad and provide information about his papers-- which he donated to Stanford University's Hoover Institute-- and his book at

    www.rogermansell.com

His original research website, www.mansell.com is being continued by Wes Injerd and Dwight Rider.

Thanks and many regards from his daughter
