Real life stories

The Burma Railroad Tracks, Thailand

After many years, it was not clear
A child asked questions every time
Never got answers, for which she asked
But she remembers the sound of the train

Clickity-Clack, Clickity-Clack
That is the sound upon the track
Clickity-Clack, Clickity-Clack
It's what she remembers way back.

From a beautiful land near the Jave sea
My father was taken away
One postcard with a japanese stamp
Somewhere from a place near a railway.

Clickity-Clack,Clickity-Clack
That is the sound upon the track
Clickity-Clack,Clickity-Clack
Mommy when is Daddy coming back?

The railway Camp, the message says
Good news, he's alive and well
Somewhere far, called Kinsaiyok
He's working for the Japanese round the clock

Clickity-Clack,Clickity-Clack
That is the sound upon the track
Clickity-Clack, Clickity-Clack
Soon my Daddy will be back!

When the war was over
Daddy's friend came to call
I heard talking, sighing,crying, weeping
The sounds reached me from the hall.

Clickity-Clack,Clickity-Clack
That is the sound upon the track
Clickity-Clack,Clickity-Clack
I heard my Daddy is not coming back.
